Defection in Nigeria politics, a major set back

The constant defection from one political party to the other has become too glaring in our Nigria political landscape. Though the process appears harmless, it is causing a lot of confusion and misunderstanding in the society.

Recently, they have been various reports as to how politicians defect from one political party to the other after winning elections.
One maybe force to ask the reasons for this defection- is it for personal interest or the interest of the masses? What benefits does this process bring to the masses?

Often times, the process of defection appears selfish and shows lack of interest in the political followers. If crises are actually wrecking a political party, as a good politician and a leader, it is advisable to settle such issues in order to keep the party flame burning instead of leaving the party.

It is the responsibility of everybody in that political party to work very hard to see to the betterment and sustainability of the party! Where that is missing it becomes a problem, thereby hindering the growth and development of such a party.
Defections has led to followers of a political figure in jeopardy, making them look like sheep without shepherds!

What can we do differently?
Understanding a political party ideology is key to sustaining the political party. Working for the sustainability of that party irrespective of the odds is also paramount! This will help the followers of such political figure to know their stands at all times!
It will help to reduce the stress of election campaign at the grassroot and further strengthen the consistency, and winning the trust of the public.Defection in Nigeria politics, a major set back
