(DDM) – Members of the Nigerian diaspora have formally declared their endorsement of Hon. Kenneth Chibuogwu Gbandi as the preferred candidate for Delta North Senatorial representation in the 2027 elections.

The statement, released on Monday, highlights the growing confidence among international Nigerians in Gbandi’s integrity, leadership experience, and commitment to community service.

According to diaspora representatives, the endorsement is rooted in Gbandi’s proven track record of bridging grassroots concerns with global exposure. Born and raised in the Anioma region of Delta State, he is celebrated for combining an intimate understanding of local challenges with insights gained from international engagement.

This dual perspective, supporters argue, equips him to address issues ranging from economic development to inclusive governance.

The diaspora’s statement emphasized that Delta North requires leadership that respects its culture, promotes accountability, and delivers tangible solutions.

“We believe the people of Delta North deserve representation that mirrors their aspirations, values, and dignity,” the communique read. It further called on residents both within Nigeria and abroad to unite behind Gbandi’s vision, highlighting the necessity of collective action in shaping the region’s political future.

The Anioma people of Delta North are a key ethnic group within Delta State, historically recognized for their strong community ties and vibrant cultural identity. Representation in the Senate has often been a contested arena, with voters seeking candidates who combine local understanding with national and global awareness.

The diaspora’s organized backing reflects a broader trend of international Nigerians actively influencing political discourse at home through endorsements, advocacy, and strategic mobilization.

According to the statement, Gbandi’s leadership philosophy focuses on progressive, people-centered governance. He is described as a candidate committed to inclusive policymaking, ensuring that decisions reflect both immediate community needs and long-term developmental goals. Supporters emphasized his ability to align international best practices with local realities, particularly in areas such as entrepreneurship, education, and social infrastructure.

Diaspora organizers, led by spokesman MacGodwin Iweajunwa, stressed the importance of unity among Delta North indigenes.

They urged sons and daughters of the region to come together to support a candidate whose leadership promises transparency, opportunity, and sustainable development.

“Together, we move Anioma forward,” the statement concluded, underscoring the collective resolve to champion leadership that truly represents the people.

Political analysts note that endorsements from the diaspora can significantly influence electoral outcomes, particularly in regions with strong overseas communities that actively participate in campaigns and voter mobilization.

Gbandi’s growing support abroad may serve as both a moral and strategic advantage as the 2027 elections approach.
