Diaspora Group Opens Office in Abuja, Appoints Chike Amadichi as Country’s Director
The Nigerian Diaspora Forum (NDF) was established by Nigerians in the diaspora to explore opportunities that will help enhance the living conditions of Nigerians outside the shore of their nation.
In a statement on Monday, the group announced that it has also appointed Chike Amadichi, the chairman of the diaspora committee of the Labour Party (LP), as the country director of the international organisation.
“Statistics show that Nigeria has over 20 million Nigerians in the diaspora who require support at one point or the other. This has led to the NDF’s decision to establish a diaspora support network across the world with a home office in the capital city of Nigeria to better advocate for the rights of Nigerians living in the diaspora,” the statement reads.
“The NDF aims to bring its activities closer to the nerve centre of Nigeria in Abuja, by liaising with the different foreign embassies, high commissions, and ambassadors to better the welfare and well-being of Nigerians living in their respective countries of residence outside Nigeria.
“The NDF will also collaborate with the Nigerian embassies in different countries for an effective and proactive response to the plight of Nigerians in the diaspora. The NDF is a formidable organisation open for all Nigerians in the diaspora and has country offices in the major countries of the world.”
