The Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM) is a dynamic and inclusive Political Action Group (PAG) established by Nigerian citizens who recognize the urgent need to enhance partisan politics and promote good governance in Nigeria.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) in an interaction with the National structure gathered that COPDEM is a collective effort of individuals and groups, both within Nigeria and across the diaspora, united by their commitment to fostering a prosperous and democratic Nigeria.

What COPDEM Stands For

1. Good Governance:

COPDEM was established with a clear mandate to contribute meaningfully to the development of good governance in Nigeria.

The organization advocates for transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership at all levels of government.

It seeks to ensure that policies reflect the true will of the people and prioritize the nation’s best interests.

2. A Political Action Group (PAG):

COPDEM pools human resources and campaign contributions from its members to support or oppose candidates, ballot initiatives, and legislation that align with its pro-democratic values.

As an independent entity, COPDEM remains unaffiliated with any political party, focusing on protecting democracy without the constraints of partisan politics.

3. Unity and Democratic Empowerment:

COPDEM is deeply committed to the unity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The organization emphasizes the economic and social empowerment of all Nigerians as prerequisites for sustainable democracy and prosperity.

4. A Pro-Democratic and Apolitical Movement:

COPDEM transcends party lines, tribal affiliations, regional divides, and religious differences.

It is dedicated to protecting democracy from corruption and destabilization while promoting fairness, justice, and equality nationwide.
