Founder of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach, Evangelist Ebuka Obi, has denied any personal connection to the woman who recently testified in his church, claiming she had acquired a house worth N500 million.
The cleric addressed the controversy in a video on Sunday sighted by News Band Newspaper.
He stressed that the woman lied against God and the church’s altar not against his ministry
His statement comes following revelations that the woman, who gave the testimony in his church, allegedly fabricated her story.
During a church program anchored by Prophet Ebuka Obi, the woman testified that God had blessed her with a house worth N500 million.
However, weeks after the testimony, investigations revealed that the woman is allegedly a local drink seller, and her testimony was false.
While reacting to the controversy, Prophet Obi stated that he has no personal relationship with the woman, explaining that, like many others, she simply came to the church to share her testimony.
He further stressed that if the woman lied, she lied against God and the altar not against the church or his ministry.
Ebuka Obi said, “I said it last month that my name would be all over the media. I said the media would be shaking, making it look real, but it’s all fake.”
“I heard from clergymen in the East that bloggers were sponsored. Now, do I know her? Does any member know her? She came to testify, just like hundreds of others who come here daily. If the house she claimed to own is fake, then it is her who lied before God and His altar not the ministry.”
