EID-EL-FITR: Security Agencies vow to give watertight Security

Imo Police Command in partnership with other sister agencies have vowed to give the people watertight Security across Imo state and beyond.

To ensure a peaceful and successful EID-EL-FITR celebration adequate security vigilance has been put in place for a hitch-free celebration.

Security Agencies including the Police, Army, DSS, Civil Defence etcetera have been deployed to strategic places to give tight security to the area.

The Commissioner of Police , Aboki Danjuma has warned criminals and their agents to stay away from the state or face their wroth.

This was contained in a Press release of Saturday 29th March, 2025 by Henry Okoye, the Command’s spokesman.

He states: “In line with our commitment to ensuring a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the Imo State Police Command, in synergy with other security agencies, has put in place robust security measures to safeguard all residents before, during, and after the festivities.

“The security arrangements were finalized after a high-level meeting of security chiefs on 27th March 2025 at the 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze.

“Present were the Brigade Commander, Brig. Gen. IM Abass; the DSS Director DD ZM Baba; Air Cdre DE Bello, Commander Nigeria Air Force 211 QRG; Commander Naval Base Oguta, Cdre MA Alhassan; and the Commissioner of Police’s representative, among others.

“The meeting focused on strategies to ensure maximum security throughout the celebrations.

*As part of these efforts, the Police, Millitary, DSS, NSCDC, NDLEA, FRSC, and other security agencies have launched a Joint Security Show of Force to reassure residents of our readiness to swiftly address any security threats and maintain peace in

“More so, joint intelligence-driven operations, visibility patrols, and stop-and-search are ongoing at strategic locations to deter criminal elements from destabilizing the state’s peace and security.

” Adequate personnel have also been deployed to prayer grounds, worship centers, recreational areas, and other public spaces to prevent any security breaches.

“Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Team Commanders have been given strict directives to ensure heightened surveillance and proactive policing within their areas of responsibility.

“Any lapses or security infractions will not be tolerated.

“The Command urge all residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and cooperative with security personnel.

“We encourage the public to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through our designated emergency hotlines.

“The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma extends the Command’s warmest wishes to the Muslim faithful for a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration”, the statement read.

It was gathered that Governor Hope Uzodinma had dinner with all the Muslim-Christian faithful in government house Owerri recently and assured them of government ‘s cooperation.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a fortnight ago, donated bags of rice and cash for them to use and break their fast.
