(DDM) – As Muslims across Nigeria commemorate Eid-el-Maulud, prominent leaders have called for peace, tolerance, and unity in nation building.
Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, extended warm felicitations to Muslims in the state and beyond.
He urged citizens to reflect deeply on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, particularly his humility, compassion, and love for humanity.
Oborevwori commended Muslims in Delta for their continued role in promoting peace, stability, and socio-economic development across the state.
The governor stressed that the Prophet’s life remains a guiding light for harmony among diverse communities.
In Oyo State, Acting Governor Bayo Lawal also issued a goodwill message to the Muslim faithful.
Lawal highlighted that the Prophet’s exemplary lifestyle should serve as a model for leadership, tolerance, and social justice in Nigeria.
He called on residents to offer fervent prayers for the state and the nation, particularly in addressing insecurity and economic hardship.
Lawal further assured the people of Oyo that Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration remains committed to development, security, and improved livelihoods.
He noted that religious celebrations like Eid-el-Maulud offer a unique opportunity for reflection on shared values.
At the federal level, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin also joined in extending his goodwill to Muslims nationwide.
Jibrin described Prophet Muhammad as a timeless role model of compassion, peace, and fairness in dealings with people.
He emphasized that embracing these values would strengthen Nigeria’s democracy and social cohesion in challenging times.
Jibrin urged Nigerians to move beyond religious and ethnic divides, uniting in the pursuit of national progress.
The senator added that unity, tolerance, and dialogue are the most effective pathways to resolving the nation’s difficulties.
