Election Official Killed In Rivers State, 3 In Kogi — INEC

The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has confirmed the death of the commission’s ad-hoc staff in Rivers State.

Professor Yakubu stated this during a press briefing he conducted earlier in the day.

In another development, the Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Police, on Sunday, confirmed three deaths following the crisis that erupted during the presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

In yet another development, the Plateau State Police Command has debunked the false information trending on the Social Media that some people are killing Commuters at Anguldi Junction in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The Police Public Relations Officer Plateau, Plateau State Command, Jos, DSP Tyopev Matthias Terna stated this in a statement on Sunday.

DSP Terna informed that there is no iota  of truth in that writeup and call on members of the public to disregard same.

He said that it is just the handiwork of a mischief maker who is not happy with the peaceful conduct of the people of Plateau yesterday during the 2019 General Elections.

The Command, therefore, assured members of the public that it will continue to do its best by patrolling the highways in order to keep the roads safe.
