Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has passed away at the age of 82.

The news of his demise was confirmed in a statement released by his son, Jide Iwuanyanwu, on Thursday, July 25.

According to the statement, Chief Iwuanyanwu died after a brief illness, leaving behind a legacy of leadership and service to the Igbo community. He was the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide and President of Owerri Peoples Assembly before his passing.

Chief Iwuanyanwu is survived by his wife, Lady Princess Frances Iwuanyanwu, and many children and grandchildren. The family has announced that burial details will be made public after due consultations.

As the news of his passing spreads, tributes are pouring in from various quarters, celebrating Chief Iwuanyanwu’s life and contributions to the Igbo community. His leadership and vision played a significant role in promoting the interests of the Igbo people, and his legacy will be deeply missed.
