When a video appeared on actress Empress Njamah’s Instagram page, showing her wearing an engagement ring, with a man in the background, many of her colleagues and fans congratulated her on the good news.
In the video, she said, “I got engaged today, August 18. I am officially off the market. I am engaged; thank you Jesus. (Its) very beautiful. Thank you baby, I love it.” The caption that accompanied the video read, “Finally off the market.”
However, in an interview, Njamah stated that her phone was hacked, and she was not the one handling the page.
She said, “My phone was hacked by a fraudster, who stole my car, money, passport, valuables and other things. He is on the run. My page is not handled by me.”
Shortly after speaking with Saturday Beats, the actress posted a video on one of her Instagram pages, @realhouseofempress, where she gave details of all that she went through in the hands of her alleged blackmailer, one George Wade from Liberia, who disguised himself as her fiancé and made her do the video of the engagement.
“Unknown to me, he was gathering the ‘tools’ he would use to blackmail me. When I tried talking, he blackmailed me with my nude videos.
“After he beat me, he would take me to the hospital, making sure he was not away from me for more than three minutes, so that she would not be able to speak to anyone about what she was going through.”
She also stated that she had contacted the security agencies to assist in identifying and tracking the person.
