
The alleged abductor of 14 -year old Ese Oruru, Yinusa Dahiru was on Tuesday arraigned before the Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.
He was arraigned on a five-count charge of abduction, illicit sex, unlawful canal knowledge, among others.
Dahiru was said to have abducted the minor in August last year from Bayelsa State and taken her to Kano State.
Clinical tests conducted on young Ese Oruru indicated that she was five months pregnant by the time she was rescued from her abductor.
The victim was reportedly smuggled from Bayelsa to Kano, forced into marriage and converted to Islam, a development that forced national outrage.
