Even OBIdients are Equally Amazed at the Strength of the Movement.

Saturday, September 17, 2023 will go down as another very significant date in the history of the OBIdient Movement. Holding solidarity marches across all state capitals in the Southeast states, Bayelsa in Southsouth and Plateau and Niger in North Central, social media was agog with proceedings across board.

In Awka, Abakaliki, Umuahia, Owerri and Enugu, there were flowing reports, pictures, videos of OBIdients all over the streets – all interesting scenarios of the organic and self-sponsored Nigerians speaking in one voice that they want to take back their country. Yenogoa was flowing. So was Suleja. And then Jos. Yes, Jos!

However, disturbing scenes emerged somewhere. In Governor Dave Umahi’s Ebonyi State, unpalatable videos and reports filtered in of the Police dispersing the very peaceful marchers with live gunshots and canisters of teargas.

But interestingly, instead of scampering for safety and finding their ways home as obviously intended by the so-called law enforcement agents, the gallant OBIdients regrouped and continued their thing. Later statement from Umahi was considered by most keen followers as an inconsequential cook-up to cover up his obvious bizarre intentions. His Media Adviser chose Channels Television to make a vain attempt to blame Labour Party, LP stakeholders as the reason the Police got involved. White lies!

But the Ebonyi drawback was soon consumed by the videos and pictures coming in suffocating streams from the middle belt region. The very important city of Jos took over the Nigerian social media hemisphere.

The Plateau State capital city hosted the real mother of all marches. It was so amazing that even the opposition must have equally marveled at how much young Nigerians have woken up to issues regarding their country and future.

The OBIdients themselves must have been truly amazed that Plateau could be that loud in expression. If this was all about trophies, Jos are presently the champions of the OBIdient Movement.

Nobody is necessarily saying the marches would translate into votes, but the likes of Governor Hope Uzodimma should take a rewinded study of the Ebonyi State scenario and ask himself how he would force the 46,000 aliens he registered in his Omuma ward in Imo State into BVAS with such defiant youths as seen in Ebonyi standing nearby.

The members of the old order are still hallucinating. They evidently know nothing about what is coming. The youths are speaking in one very loud voice and these oldies better start listening. There comes a time in history when the oppressed say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. It is that time right now in Nigeria!

This is not an ethnic or religious revolution. This is a holistic revolution where children are justifiably up against parents, wives against husbands and congregation against overseers. If the likes of Umahi and Uzodimma think this is a war they can win by brute force, they have another think ( or thing) coming.

President Muhammadu Buhari should, as a matter of urgency, send a strict restraint to all security agents in the land never to interrupt peaceful youths, who are now OBIdiently embracing DEMOCRACY for what it really is.

These teeming youths have shown peaceful compliance, but astonishingly determined to take back their country. Things may truly turn awry should any overzealousness from any security agent lead to any loss of life.

HE Peter Obi, the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, promised to turn around the country. He already has. Youths are now very determined to safeguard their future via the only legitimate means available to them – THE BALLOTS.

Nobody should stand in their way. It is their democratic right!

They appeared ignorant and asleep to that fact before. But somebody has woken them up now. The C-In-C has to give that restraining order to security agencies now! This is the time to comply with the axiom that the youths are indeed leaders of tomorrow.
