Documents obtained by News Band shows that the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu, has no valid voter registration yet cast his vote during the recently held general election across the country.
The revelation was made during the hearing of the petition challenging Governor Sanwo-Olu’s victory at the governorship election filed by the Lagos State Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, at the Tribunal.
The Lagos State Governor had cast his vote at St Stephen Primary School, Eyekole, Adeniji-Adele area of Lagos State, according to videos obtained by this medium.
As proof that Governor Sanwo-olu had cast his vote during the presidential election held on February 25, 2023, and the Lagos State governorship election held on March 18, 2023, respectively, watch the following two video clips below shared by PUNCH on social media:

In a shocking development, however, Certified True Copies (CTC) of documents obtained from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) shows that Sanwo-olu has no valid voter registration while casting his vote.
The first document marked “VALID VOTERS REGISTER” showing Sanwo-Olu’s record encircled in red, reads:
>>Sanwo-Olu Babajide O.
>>Invalid Command 29579
>>DOB 1965 | Gender: M
See the attached document below:

The second document marked “DISPLAY REGISTER” also shows Sanwo-Olu’s record encircled in red, and reads:
>>Sanwo-Olu Babajide Olusola

Wondering how possible it may have been for Governor Sanwo-Olu to cast his vote without valid voter registration, Nigerian journalist and founder of West Africa Week journal, David Hundeyin tweeted:
“If @jidesanwoolu had no valid voter registration, how did he vote during the election? Is voting without a PVC not a violation of the Electoral Amendment Act 2022? Is there anyone in the APC who is not a criminal or criminal-adjacent?”
In the meantime, it is left to be seen how the Tribunal will decide on the subject matter, as well as several other violations witnessed during the elections in the state.
Earlier, a group of lawyers under the auspices of “National Lawyers Coalition for Peter Obi” has dragged the the All Progressive Congress (APC) to the International Criminal Court (ICC) at The Hague, The Netherlands, over “organized crimes against humanity”.
