The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has stepped up health surveillance and emergency screening measures across all international airports in the country following renewed concerns over possible Ebola virus outbreaks in parts of Central and West Africa.
The move is part of a broader preventive strategy aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s border health security system and ensuring that no imported case of the highly contagious disease enters the country through air travel routes. Authorities say the decision reflects a precautionary response to evolving regional health alerts and global monitoring of infectious disease patterns.
According to FAAN, enhanced screening procedures have been activated immediately at all international terminals, with additional focus placed on passengers arriving from countries currently classified as high risk by international health monitoring agencies.
