World football body—FIFA has nominated Super Eagles and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, for the 2023 Best Player of the Year award.
Osimhen was nominated alongside Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Kylian Mbappe in the men’s category of the award.
The winner will be announced by FIFA on January 17, 2024, following votes from an international jury comprising national team captains and coaches, journalists, and fans from all over the world.
It could be recalled that Osimhen was also nominated for the 2023 Ballon d’Or award last week. Read more.
