FIFA Ranking: Nigeria drop a step, ranks 51st, 8th in Africa

Nigeria has dropped a step in the current FIFA men’s ranking released on December 22, 2016, and now ranks 51st in the world.

The African giant, which has not lost a match since Gerhot Rohr took over the mantle, also ranks eighth in Africa.

Côte d’Ivoire, currently 34th in the world, lost its stranglehold in Africa, with Senegal topping the African pack as the world’s 33rd.

Tunisia followed at 35th, Egypt 36th, and Algeria 38th respectively.

Burkina Faso, which was previously tied at 50th with Nigeria, maintained its position, while Nigeria slipped one step behind, tying with Slovenia at 51st.

Ghana falls far behind Nigeria at 53, while Mali at 569 points trails 60th, tying with South Africa.

Meanwhile, Argentina dominated the world pack with 1634 points, while Brazil is second and Germany third.

Remarkably, no African nation made the 1-30 list in the latest FIFA ranking. See the updated list below:
