The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has again achieved ISO 9001:2015 recertification, demonstrating its sustained excellence in road safety management. This marks the fourth consecutive certification since first attaining the standard in 2013.

Following a thorough audit by Standards Organisation of Nigeria officials, the FRSC proved its compliance with global quality benchmarks. The Corps initially earned ISO 9001:2008 certification before upgrading to the 2015 standards three years later.

Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed celebrated this African record, noting the FRSC remains the continent’s only law enforcement agency with this distinction. “This achievement reflects our commitment to operational excellence,” he stated during the certification announcement.

Mohammed praised staff members for maintaining rigorous processes that secured recertification in 2019, 2022, and now 2025. He reassured Nigerians of continued service improvements through standardized operations and staff training initiatives.

This milestone reinforces the FRSC’s continental leadership in traffic management while setting new benchmarks for public safety institutions. As the Corps implements upgraded service protocols, motorists can expect enhanced road safety interventions nationwide.

The recertification process evaluated all operational units, including emergency response systems and public education programs. Auditors particularly commended the Corps’ documentation processes and field operations coordination.

Moving forward, the FRSC plans to expand its quality management systems to state commands and roadside clinics. This expansion aims to standardize services across all touchpoints while maintaining ISO compliance requirements.

Through this achievement, the Corps reaffirms its dedication to saving lives on Nigerian roads. The recertification serves as both recognition and motivation to pursue even higher safety standards.

Road safety advocates have applauded this development, urging other agencies to emulate the FRSC’s quality culture. As traffic volumes grow nationwide, such certifications become increasingly vital for effective service delivery.

The FRSC leadership has pledged to sustain this momentum through technology adoption and continuous staff development. With this recertification, the Corps strengthens its position as Africa’s foremost road safety organization.
