General Musa: Bello Turji ready to surrender

On Friday, General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, announced that notorious terrorist leader Bello Turji is prepared to surrender.
Following the military’s recent operations that eliminated his second in command and several lieutenants, Turji has reportedly been compelled to abandon most of his followers, indicating a readiness to lay down his arms.
General Musa explained the challenges in tracking terrorists within communities.
He noted, “They (terrorists) are within the communities; the people know them.
Sometimes, by the time you receive information, the suspect has already moved.”
He emphasized that the military has successfully neutralized Turji’s key lieutenants, forcing him to release many of his followers.
General Musa stated in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today that he is beginning to say he wants nothing. He expressed that he is ready to surrender.
Despite Turji’s reported willingness to surrender, General Musa emphasized that those involved in murdering innocent citizens must face justice.
“We want to take everybody out.
“He asserted that anyone who has killed should go; therefore, people like him should not be allowed to stay.”
The military’s relentless campaign against Turji continues.
On Wednesday, troops from Operation Fansan Yamma neutralized his second in command, Aminu Kanawa.
Defence Director Edward Buba confirmed that troops seriously injured Turji’s close associates.
This includes Dosso, Turji’s younger brother, and Danbokolo, a trusted ally.
Additionally, the military reported neutralizing several of Turji’s key commanders, including Abu Dan Shehu, Jabbi Dogo, and others.
The operation also led to the neutralization of over 24 fleeing terrorists from Turji’s camp located in Sokoto and Zamfara States.
