Di moment wey Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, struggle as him dey try to take announce di state’s 2025 budget figure don dey widely shared for social media.

According to report wey talk say di governor present estimated ₦605 billion budget for di 2025 fiscal year to di Edo State House of Assembly on Tuesday.

Di budget, wey dem tag “Budget of Renewed Hope for a Rising Edo,” represent 25% increase from di 2024 budget.

During di presentation of di Appropriation Bill, Governor Okpebholo dey stumble while e dey attempt to announce di ₦605 billion figure.

Despite di momentary lapse, e continue him speech, delivering key highlights of di proposal.

Okpebholo explain say ₦223 billion (37%) of di total budget go dey allocated to recurrent expenditure, while di remaining ₦381 billion (63%) go dey channel toward capital projects wey aim to drive economic growth and development for di state.

“Dis budget na product of extensive consultations and e embody my administration’s commitment to achieving its five-point agenda: security, infrastructural development, healthcare, food sufficiency, and education,” Okpebholo talk.

One key highlight of di budget na di allocation of ₦162 billion for road infrastructure.

Dis allocation include di construction of di much-anticipated Ramat Park flyover for Benin City, one landmark project wey dem design to transform di city’s transportation network and ease traffic congestion.
