Gov. Sule visits Buhari, cries out over Boko Haram in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule, on Friday visited President Muhammadu Buhari and lamented over the recent activities of Boko Haram terrorists in his state.

President Buhari received Governor Sule in audience in the State House when the later paid him a courtesy visit.

During the visit, the Nasarawa State governor raised alarm over the havoc perpetrated by Boko Haram terrorists in the state.

He beseeched the Federal Government to intervene and especially take over the Jitata road in Nasarawa, which serves as alternative route to Abuja.

After the meeting with Buhari, Sule while addressing State House correspondents, said that he discussed the security issues in Nasarawa State.

He noted that many of the Boko Haram insurgents active in Nasarawa State belonged to the Darussalam group that was dislodged from Niger State.

According to him, a lot of them were killed during a joint security operation while 900 were arrested.

Those arrested and confirmed members of the Boko Haram insurgents, he said, have been handed over to the authorities.

Present at the meeting with President Buhari and the Nasarawa State Governor was the Chief of Staff to the President Professor Ibrahim Gambari.
