The executive governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has reportedly travelled to Europe, though his exact destination is yet unknown.
News Band gathered that the governor may have headed to the United Kingdom.
Wike had addressed a televised media chat earlier on Friday in Government House, Port Harcourt, where he opened what can be termed a can of worms.
It was gathered that the Niger Delta born politician jetted out in a chattered flight from the Port Harcourt International Airport at about midnight on Friday.
A top government official who doesn’t want to be mentioned on print according to Punch, confirmed the governor’s departure on Saturday morning.
“Yes, he (Wike) travelled last night. But I don’t know his exact destination,” he said.
The governor, during the fever-pitched media chat on Friday had made several revelations.
One of such was that the presidential standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had offered him a Senatorial ticket during their meeting in London last month.
