Guinness offers free eye surgeries as part of 75th anniversary celebration

Guinness Nigeria Plc has commenced free eye surgeries to mark its 75th anniversary celebration across the country.
This was announced by guinness Nigeria plc, through the initiated guinness eye center.
The free medical initiative is being conducted through the Guinness Eye Centres in Lagos and Onitsha.
The gesture is part of several programmes aimed at giving back to Nigerians at the grassroots level.
Guinness Nigeria began operations in 1950 and has since become a household name in the country.
The Managing Director, Mr Girish Sharma, described the 75th anniversary as a celebration of heritage and human connection.
He said the milestone is more than a celebration of history but a renewal of its social impact vision.
“This is a tribute to everyone who built this legacy with us,” Sharma said during the announcement.
According to him, Guinness is stepping into a new chapter with stronger purpose and deeper societal impact.
The company’s legacy of community impact includes health, education, and access to clean water for many Nigerians.
Guinness has provided potable water to over 500,000 Nigerians through its Water of Life programme.
Women have also benefited through the Plan-W scheme aimed at economic empowerment.
The company supports students via undergraduate scholarships that have touched lives across multiple states.
Guinness has also promoted responsible drinking and road safety for over 20 years.
This has been in partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in various states.
To mark the 75th year, Guinness is launching a documentary on its legacy and achievements.
The company is also unveiling limited-edition bottles in honour of the milestone celebration.
Promotions and consumer engagements are expected nationwide as part of the celebration package.
Internally, staff will enjoy football tournaments and anniversary parties across various company locations.
Guinness recently underwent a change in majority shareholding to reposition for more growth.
Sharma said the company is now investing more in local agility and supply chain strength.
He said Guinness is proudly Nigerian while staying globally competitive and quality-driven.
“We are not just celebrating – we are building a greater future,” Sharma added.
