Gunmen abduct naval college students in Edo

Several students of the Naval College of Engineering, Sapele, Delta state have been abducted by gunmen in Edo state.

The incident happened on Monday while the students were returning from Kaduna to Sapele.

An 18-seater bus conveying the students was said to have been attacked and the occupants abducted.

Kotongs Bello, police spokesperson in Edo, who confirmed the development to TheCable on Wednesday said 14 of the abducted students have been rescued.

Bello said the 14 were rescued by officers of the command while five others are still with the abductors.

He added that officers are currently on the trail of the kidnappers to rescue the remaining students.

The school authority is yet to make a statement on the incident.
