A member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing Pankshin South Constituency has been reportedly abducted by gunmen.
The incident occurred late Sunday night in the Dong community of Jos North Local Government Area, where armed assailants stormed his residence, forcibly taking him away.
The gunmen, described as heavily armed, broke into the legislator’s home and abducted him before security operatives could respond.
At the time of filing this report, neither the Plateau State Police Command nor the leadership of the State Assembly has issued a statement in respect to the unfortunate incident.
It remains unclear if the kidnappers have contacted the victim’s family or made any ransom demands.
The situation has raised concerns over the growing insecurity in the region, with many awaiting updates from authorities.
