Police in Kebbi State has confirmed the killing of two Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) officers and one civilian by suspected Lakurawa gunmen in an attack at the Bachaka border in Argungu Local Government Area on Tuesday.

Speaking on the unfortunate incident, the spokesman of the command, SP Nafiu Abubakar, stated that while the Customs Service operates multiple units and commands, the specific command of the slain officers is yet to be determined.

“Yes, there was an attack, and it resulted in the killing of two yet-to-be-identified Customs officers and one native of Bachaka village,” he said.

Following the attack, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani, visited the scene and assured that such attacks would not deter security forces.

“These sporadic assaults are signs of desperation from weakened criminal elements who are facing sustained military and law enforcement operations aimed at eliminating them,” he said.

This latest attack on security operatives and civilians comes just 24 hours after combined security forces neutralized two suspected Lakurawa in the state.
