Hardship: Those who will rescue Nigeria not yet born — Joe Igbokwe

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr Joe Igbokwe has expressed deep frustration over Nigeria’s current economic woes.

He said those capable of rescuing the country from its “self-inflicted pains and tears” are yet to be born.

Chief Joe Igbokwe, a diehard supporter of President Bola Tinubu in a Facebook post on Friday, cried out as a bag of rice now costs N100,000.

“With all the rice mills we have in Nigeria, my wife just told me that a bag of rice is now ₦100k plus. Without sounding immodest, I am constrained to say that the men and women that will rescue this country from self-inflicted pains and tears are not born yet,” he wrote.

According to Igbokwe, Nigeria is grappling with numerous problems, many of which are the result of poor governance and leadership over the years.

Meanwhile, the political figure’s comments serve as a reminder of the pressing need for leadership that can address Nigeria’s long-standing issues and steer the country toward a more prosperous future.
