A man said to be HIV-positive has been apprehended after he was caught having intimacy with another man’s pregnant wife in Enugwu Agidi in Anambra State.
The man simply identified as John Peter, who rides commercial motorcycle was nabbed pants down with the pregnant woman in his apartment, operatives of the Anambra State agency, upon being tipped off.
During interrogation, Peter said the woman called him to assist her as she had nothing to eat.
The suspect said he told her he could not come to her but later invited her over to his apartment where he told her he would sleep with her in order to give her money.
Peter said the lady agreed and they had commenced the ‘session’ when the security men barged in to stop them.
A tragic twist was introduced to the story when those who knew the suspect alleged that he was HIV-positive
The security operatives were said to have taken Peter to a local medical laboratory in Awka, where a rapid HIV test allegedly confirmed his positive status.
“The test was conclusive. He is indeed HIV positive, and this raises serious public health concerns for the community,” said a source.
Community residents are now apprehensive that the man might have spread the virus to unsuspecting women.
They are calling on Anambra Health Services to conduct some form of impact assessment by testing some of the women the man has had relationships with, because they claimed they had seen him with some women before the latest scandal.
The man is currently with the Anambra State Security Service.
