Hoodlums have raided churches in Katsina State, looting equipments worth millions of naira.

According to reports, the Living Faith Church in Daura local government area, the home-town of former President Muhammadu Buhari, was targeted.

The vandals looted 205 chairs, musical instruments, and various other valuable items.

Pastor David Sarki, who oversees the church, revealed that the theft forced the cancellation of the church service.

“Because the hoodlums took everything inside the church on the first day of the protest, they decided to worship at their various home cells,” he explained.

Meanwhile, despite having two security operatives, one of whom was on duty, the protestors, many arriving in tricycles, managed to break into the church, ransacking it and looting a wide range of items, from musical instruments to the church’s desktop computer and documents.

The vandals also targeted two other churches: Deeper Life and the Anglican Church. They successfully broke into Deeper Life but were stopped by the strong protection at the gate of the Anglican Church.

“We have informed the police and the army about it, and the police told us yesterday that they have made some arrests,” Pastor Sarki added, urging the government to take action against such invasions and expressing hope that the perpetrators seek repentance.

Similarly, Pastor Nelson Onyekachuku of Power of Resurrection Church in Katsina State reported an attack on his church during the protest.

Though the vandals could not break through the iron-protected windows, they caused significant damage.

Onyekachuku, the former state Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Katsina, condemned the attacks and urged the government to address public grievances while ensuring church protections are upheld.
