A 42-year-old housewife, Maman Zainab, has collapsed and died while attending a Ramadan tafsir session at a mosque in Gawu, Abaji Area Council of the FCT.
According to local resident Ismail Bala, the incident occurred on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, around 11:23 a.m.
Maman Zainab had left home in good health, accompanied by three neighbors, to attend the religious gathering.
However, during the session, she whispered to a fellow attendee that she was feeling dizzy and experiencing a severe headache.
As she attempted to stand up and leave the mosque, she suddenly collapsed.
Fellow worshippers quickly rushed her to a hospital in Gawu Babangida, but she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
A doctor later attributed her death to complications from high blood pressure.
Her remains have since been buried according to Islamic rites, leaving the community in mourning over the sudden loss.
