ICJ orders Israel to halt operations in Rafah

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has ordered Israel to halt, with immediate effects, all operations in Rafah in the ongoing war against Hamas.

A Judge of the International Court of Justice gave the order while reading the judgement in the suit brought against Israel by South Africa over the situation in Palestine.

The court said that it is not convinced that Israel is doing enough to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian civilians in Rafah.
