ENUGU, Nigeria — The Igbo-Etiti Youth Forum (IEYF) has taken its Permanent Voter Card (PVC) sensitisation campaign to the heart of Ogbede Market, engaging traders, artisans, transport workers, farmers, and residents in a massive awareness drive on the importance of obtaining their PVCs and participating actively in the electoral process.
The campaign, which took place on Friday, was aimed at reminding every eligible citizen that the power to shape the future of Igbo-Etiti lies in the ballot. According to the forum, a PVC is more than a card—it is the voice of the people, the foundation of democracy, and the instrument through which positive leadership is chosen.
During the sensitisation, members of the forum encouraged everyone who is yet to register or complete their PVC process to do so without delay. Citizens were also urged not only to obtain their PVCs but to come out peacefully and responsibly on election day to cast their votes.
The Igbo-Etiti Youth Forum reiterated its commitment to promoting civic responsibility, peaceful participation, and youth inclusion in governance. The group stated that the future of the local government depends on the collective participation of every eligible voter.
The forum also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting leaders who genuinely work for the welfare, empowerment, and development of the youth. “Anyone who is for the youth, the youth will be for them,” the group said in a statement.
The forum expressed appreciation to the people of Ogbede for their warm reception and enthusiastic participation. The group encouraged every community across Igbo-Etiti to embrace the movement and play their part in building a stronger, more united, and more prosperous local government through active participation in the democratic process.

As the 2027 elections approach, the forum has vowed to sustain its advocacy and encourage more citizens to participate in shaping the future of their communities.
