The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has sunk to unprecedented depths of unprofessionalism and anarchy, brazenly defying the Constitution and laws he swore to uphold.

His latest attempts to hijack the constable recruitment process and smear the Police Service Commission are a disgrace to the rule of law and democratic governance.

Egbetokun’s actions reek of desperation and incompetence, demonstrating a shocking disregard for the institution he leads.

His failure to produce evidence to support his baseless claims is a testament to his intellectual and professional bankruptcy.

The Police Service Commission, established by the Constitution to oversee the recruitment and management of police personnel, has been undermined by Egbetokun’s actions.

His reported, desperate attempt to smuggle in 1000 names into the list of successful candidates is a clear violation of the Constitution and the laws establishing the PSC.

Egbetokun’s behavior is a betrayal of public trust and a slap in the face to the millions of Nigerians who expect the police to uphold the law and protect them from harm.

His actions have eroded public confidence in the police force and reinforced the perception that the institution is corrupt, incompetent, and unaccountable.

The Federal Government must act swiftly to restore sanity and respect for the law. Anything less would be a tacit endorsement of Egbetokun’s shameful conduct. He must be held accountable for his actions, and the Police Service Commission must be allowed to perform its constitutional duties without interference.

Egbetokun’s unprofessionalism and anarchist tendencies have no place in the Nigeria Police Force.

Instead of hiding behind baseless claims, Egbetokun should cover his face in shame for failing to produce evidence of the alleged shortlisted candidates with disabilities. His silence is deafening, and his inaction is a testament to his gross incompetence.
