Ohakim

Nnamdi Nwosu said: “We have noted the sudden resurfacing of a malicious, recycled, and long-debunked piece of fiction originally published in 2011 and falsely paraded as recent commentary.

This article, authored by one Charles Ofoji, a now-forgotten political errand boy, reeks of bitter propaganda, crude distortions, and an unhealthy obsession with dragging down a man whose name is once again echoing with the people — Dr. Ikedi Ohakim.

Let us be clear: the so-called “Downfall of an Impostor Governor” was a poisonous rant then, and it remains a discredited waste of words today.

That it is now being recirculated by desperate political jobbers and cyber mercenaries shows just how much Ohakim’s resurgence has rattled those who built their relevance on lies, stolen mandates, and character assassination.

*Dissecting the Lies: Rebutting Each Falsehood*

1. “Impostor Governor”? That’s Historical Amnesia at its Worst

Dr. Ikedi Ohakim was validly elected by the people of Imo State in 2007, his victory ratified by INEC and affirmed in court.

The conspiracy theory of “imposition” was a lazy lie concocted by political losers who couldn’t accept their rejection.

These were the same people who would later sneak through the backdoor of power by manipulating public emotions and resorting to sensational attacks.

There was no fraud, no backdoor deal, no stolen mandate — only sour grapes from the defeated.

2. “Did Nothing but Plant Flowers”? Utter Nonsense

Only the blind and dishonest would deny that Ohakim’s administration brought order, peace, and vision to Imo State.

The “Clean and Green Initiative” was not just beautification — it was an environmental revolution that created jobs, restored sanitation, and improved public health.

His administration:

Created IROMA for durable road maintenance.

Recruited and deployed 10,000 graduates — the most ambitious youth employment scheme in Imo’s history.

Professionalized public service, elevated fiscal discipline, and restored peace and dignity to governance.

Embarked on the Imo Freeway, a bold infrastructure policy tragically abandoned by his immediate successor.

Established Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commissions, ISOPADEC to cater for the developmental and ecological needs of oil producing communities in the state.

Only those threatened by his achievements would try to reduce it to “planting flowers.” That claim is both ignorant and insulting to the intelligence of Imo citizens who lived through that era.

3. “Assaulted Journalists and Clergy”? A Dangerous, Repeated Lie

The so-called stories of assault were never proven in any court of law.

These are manufactured myths that have long been debunked and retracted by those behind them, who at that time deliberately spread them to incite public anger during the heat of the 2011 elections — a time when politics was vicious and the truth was a casualty.

No convictions. No credible evidence. Just the same tired tale told by failed propagandists.

Let it be known: Dr. Ohakim is not a tyrant.

He is a democrat, an intellectual, and a peaceful leader whose government never ordered the killing of protesters, never looted public institutions, and never owed salaries.

*The Real Agenda Behind This Recirculated Trash*

Why now? Because Ohakim’s name is rising again.

Because the people are beginning to remember — and compare.

Because a man they once maligned with lies is now being vindicated by time and truth.

So they’ve gone to the dustbin of the internet to repackage old falsehoods, hoping to poison the well again.

But they forget one thing: Imo people are wiser now.

We are in 2025, not 2011. This new generation of Imolites has seen who truly served them and who only served themselves.

They know propaganda when they see it.

They know a leader when they see one.

On Governor Hope Uzodinma — A Note of Respect

Unlike the authors of this trash, we are not in the business of tearing down anyone who has governed Imo.

We acknowledge the efforts of the current administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma, especially in infrastructure and regional development.

Every administration builds on what came before.

This is how continuity works. This is how progress is made — not through lies, slander, and recycled bitterness.

*Conclusion: History Cannot Be Rewritten with Lies*

Dr. Ikedi Ohakim remains one of the most structured, visionary, and reform-minded leaders Imo State has ever produced.

His governance was defined by order, peace, reform, and youth empowerment. That is why his name endures.

The 2011 hate piece is not journalism — it’s gutter-level hackery, and its resurgence is proof that some cowards still live in fear of his relevance.

But the people of Imo are not fools. They know their history. They know their leaders. And they know that Ikedi Ohakim is no impostor — he is a statesman.
