Imo : Aboh Mbaise LGA chair, Alaribe holds consultative meeting

The Executive Chairman of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, Barr. Iheukwumere Alaribe has reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the local government.

This was contained in a press release of 12th January 2024 by his Chief Press Secretary, Dike Godspower and made available to the media.

Dike stated that the chairman made the pledge during the interactive meeting with the party leaders and community stakeholders in Aboh Mbaise at the residence of Chief Charles Ogu in Ngurunweke.

According to him: “Barr. Alaribe stressed the importance of unity and cooperation among party members, noting that the election period is now over and the focus should shift to progress and development.

“Alaribe emphasized that the party aims to avoid any factions within the APC, as such divisions could hinder growth and progress.

“The Chairman urged leaders to promote understanding and peaceful coexistence by engaging positively with all stakeholders.

“He cautioned against sowing discord and highlighted the necessity of evaluating potential leaders based on competence rather than sentiment.

“Regarding the upcoming congress, Barr. Alaribe assured attendees that decisions would be made in consultation with leaders from every ward, and he would not impose his will unilaterally.

“Barr. Alaribe said they don’t want to upset leaders in any ward; and will reach agreements, and any decisions made will be respected.

“He also warned leaders against imposing their will on others, as this could create discontent within the party.

“He emphasized the importance of unity in addressing challenges and maintaining the party’s momentum for future elections.

“Additionally, he announced that the Local Government has established:

– *Aboh Mbaise Local Government Town Planning and Development Authority*

And plans to establish:

– *Aboh Mbaise Land Settlement, Protection, Acquisition, and Investment Agency*

– *Aboh Mbaise Mass Transit System*, a transport agency that will provide services within and outside Imo State.

“In response, Nze Julian Nwaogu thanked Barr. Alaribe for his inclusive approach and assured him that the people would support their elected leaders to ensure peace, progress, and development in Aboh Mbaise.

Hon. Irechukwu Okereke commended the Chairman’s leadership and advised against external interference in local party matters.

Notable attendees at the meeting included the Leader of the Council, Rt. Hon. Anthony Ndulor, councillors, the Director-General of the Divine Mandate Campaign Organization, Comr. Frank Obi Uche-Magic Man, Hon. Esther Egburuche, Chief Charles Ogu, Hon. Ebegu Ogechi, Hon. Bede Amadiokoro, Hon. Ugwuamaka Sylvester, Hon. Ugochukwu Umunnakwe, Hon. John Ikewe, Hon. Chukwuemeka Ihejirika, Lolo Adiukwu, GLOs, and other leaders”, the statement read.
