Imo: CP Danjuma flags off 45 weeks training for Police Officers

The Imo state Commissioner of Police, Mr Aboki Danjuma has flagged of a 45 – week training to enhance Personnels’ Competence, and operational effectiveness.

The Commissioner of Police ably represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police,Serajo Fana Mohammed said the initiative is in line with the vision of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun to strengthen the integrity and professionalism of the office.

He added that the training will continue every Tuesday till the end of this year.

Henry Okoye, the Command’s spokesman stated this in a Press release of Tuesday 25th February 2025.

He said: “The Imo State Police Command today, 25th February 2025, launched a 45-week training program aimed at enhancing the skills and operational effectiveness of its officers.

The program, which began at 9AM and concluded at 11AM, was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Serajo Fana Mohammed, on behalf of Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma.

This initiative is in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD, NPM, and will continue every Tuesday until the end of the year.

A key feature of the event was a lecture delivered by Retired CP Dan Okoro Esq. on values and ethical re-orientation.

He highlighted the core values of the Nigeria Police Force as outlined in the Police Act and Regulations, focusing on professionalism, integrity, and accountability.

CP Dan Okoro urged officers to pursue continuous self-improvement and adapt to the evolving security landscape, especially with the rise of social media and emerging technologies, to better address the dynamic challenges in law enforcement.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Okoye Henry, gave a vote of thanks on behalf of the participants.

He thanked Rtd. CP Dan Okoro, Esq for his insightful lecture and appreciated the IGP, CP, and the management team for organizing the training, noting that the program would enhance the command’s operational effectiveness and improve policing in Imo State.

Present at the flag-off were the Command’s management team, including DCP Hamzat A. Abdulkadir (DCP Operations), DCP Hammajoda Barka (DCP Finance and Admin), ACP Adamu Amadu (ACP State Intelligence Department ), ACP Linus Nwaiwu (ACP X-Squad), ACP Michael Abattam (Area Commander Owerri Urban), and other senior officers.

Also in attendance were over 200 personnel, including senior officers, inspectors, and rank-and-file from various units.

The training, held every Tuesday until year-end, aims to enhance personnel skills and operational readiness.

This initiative will strengthen the professionalism and service delivery of the Imo State Police Command, contributing to public safety in Imo State and nationwide.
