….Says Ihedioha won people’s hearts with unbeatable records
Former PDP aspirant for House of Assembly in Ideato North, Franklin Ngoforo, has hailed the Rt. Hon . Emeka Ihedioha for his accomplishments in Ideato within the seven months his tenure lasted, and assured that if the former Governor resolves to seek the gubernatorial nomination of the PDP, the party in Ideato Nation will stand strongly behind him.
Ngoforo made this known on Saturday during a meeting with members and community mobilizers of Oganihu Ideato Project, which is political support group.
According to him, “While in office as Governor, Ihedioha performed beyond words. His programs and policies were in sync with the basic needs of the people. Ideato people will never forget that Ihedioha, upon assumption of office, paid the counterpart fund for the erosion control project in Ezemazu, Urualla, to the tune of N9.9 billion. Hope Uzodinma came and terminated the project. Our people who are now threatened by erosion once again are eager to see Ihedioha return as Governor.
“Ihedioha brought something refreshingly different into the governance of Imo State. The introduction of Treasury Single Account (TSA) ensured transparency in the accounting of our revenues, just as it completely eradicated the incidence of multiple taxation. This greatly improved the business climate in the state,” he said.
Ngoforo, an accomplished management consultant, further recalled that Ihedioha prioritized grassroots development by granting autonomy to the local government system and vigorously pursuing the Rural Access Mobility Projects (RAMP).
“Ihedioha’s RAMP roads were extended to all nooks and crannies of the state. My community, Ndi-Uche in Arondizuogu, witnessed unprecedented government presence, as the contract for the asphalting of the committee roads was awarded for the first time in history.
“We saw the local government system doing landmark projects across the state. We all were witnesses to massive rural roads revolution in Imo. Even in the remotest parts of Ideato, Ihedioha awarded rural road projects.”
Ngoforo said it’s a patriotic duty for all PDP faithful and indeed all Ideato people to support Ihedioha if he declares to contest for the governorship seat. He regretted that Imo state is now on the edge of a precipice because of bad governance, and added that Imo will not afford the risk of replacing the incumbent Governor, whom he described as a monumental disaster, with another green horn who only has a learner’s permit.
