Imo: Security forces kill 4 criminal suspects, arrest 5, others

Team of security operatives made up of Police, army, Department of State Security Services DSS, and Civil Defence corps under the auspices of operation Udoka have killed four suspected terrorists and arrested five others in Imo following an intelligent report.
They also recovered eight(8) motorcycles, several dangerous weapons including explosive devices and communication gadgets.
In a press release of 15th December 2024 and signed by Imo Police Command spokesperson, Henry Okoye said that security forces killed four suspected terrorists and arrested five others following a protracted gun battles with the suspects.
It added that they recovered eight motorcycles, several dangerous weapons including explosive devices and communication gadgets linked to the suspects.
Okoye hinted that the operatives also dismantled another camp allegedly owned by the Eastern Security Network in Aku village earlier this month.
” The operation which also covers Njaba local government area and others highlights the state’s commitment to safeguard all its communities “, he stated.
“The assessment involved key security figures including the commissioner of Police Mr Aboki Danjuma, Brigadier General U.A. Lawal , Commander of the 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Air Commodore David Bello, Commander NAF 2111 Quick Response Group, Owerri, Naval Commander Oguta, Commodore MB Salisu, the DSS Commander, the NSCDC Commander, and SSA to the Governor on security affairs Brig. Gen. Joseph Ogbonna (rtd)”, it stated.
The police Spokesperson said that efforts to improve security operations and defeat insurgency are in top gear and security forces have heightened their operation to dismantle criminals within the state.
He said that the Commissioner of Police Mr Aboki Danjuma have conducted assessment of an ongoing operation in Ezioha Eziama autonomous community, Mbaitoli LGA targeting alleged ESN camp responsible for violent attacks and kidnapping in the region.
The release stated that CP Aboki Danjuma and Brig. Gen. Joseph Ogbonna (rtd) reassured the public that the security agencies are fully committed to ensuring their safety during the yuletide season.
” CP Aboki Danjuma also reassured Imo residents that security agents would work tirelessly to protect the state and called on all Imo people to work in partnership with law enforcement agencies for a peaceful and secure environment throughout the Christmas season “, Okoye stated.
