Imo: Umuihua Umuodu Youth IMC visits APC state Chair, Ebere; holds maiden meeting

Umuihua Umuodu Youth IMC has paid a working courtesy visit to the state party chairman of All Progressives Congress APC Imo state Sir Macdonald Ebere PhD and has held its maiden meeting.
The visit took place on the 5th of May 2025 at his residence in Owerri, Imo state.
The Interim Committee Chairman of Umuihua-Umuodu Youth Organisation, Comr. Chioke Oguoma, led members of the Committee on behalf of the organisation on a courtesy visit to the State Party Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Imo State Chapter, Hon. Sir MacDonald Ebere, PhD.
The delegation was joined by the Leader of the Council of Owerri Municipal Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Soronnadi Justice Chijioke, a distinguished son of the Umuihua Umuodu community.
The primary objective of the visit was to formally introduce the newly constituted interim leadership of the Umuihua Umuodu Youth Organisation to the APC State Chairman and to pledge their commitment to the progressive ideals of the party.
It also served as a platform to strengthen the relationship between the community’s youth body and the party leadership.
In the same vein, the youth organization held its maiden on Saturday 3rd May 2025
Speaking during the meeting, Rt. Hon. Justice Chijioke Soronnadi (Leader of the legislative Council Owerri Municipal) said he would address the pressing need of the youths and the issue facing the youths.
He made mention of the skill acquisitions for the youths, making it loud for the youths to sit up and get themselves into one or two different skills.
He also assured the members of the youths that he would use his office to get this moving in the community.
Hon.Soronnadi Justice hammered on security, saying it is a collective responsibility of everyone and not only for the Chairman or Security Agency.
He went further to say, “IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING.”
He assured the youths that the community will soon be sleeping with their two eyes closed as he vowed to install CCTV Cameras at various strategic points within the community to check mate the activities at nighttime.
He went further in telling the members to shun violence and embrace peace by supporting the new Caretaker Government led by the Chairman Comr. Chioke Oguoma who have over the years maintained a track record of loyalty, humility and is loved by the entire community.
The Caretaker Committee Chairman of U.U.Y.O Comr. Chioke Oguoma in his remark began by introducing his Committee members.
He further explained to the house the mandate of the committee to community members sent by the government which is to instill peace and stability as well as prepare grounds for the upcoming U.U.Y.O General Elections.
He pointed out some areas our family council members are defaulting by imposing laws in the affairs of the youths which are not meant to be, and need to be corrected.
He reiterated that the tenure given to him is only three (3) months to conduct the General Election, adding that no one should hide work place for him so as to be able to generate funds for the upcoming election.
Finally, he thanked the Executive Chairman of Owerri Municipal Council Hon. Bldr. CHIDIEBERE EMERIBE for bestowing such confidence in him and assured him of his total commitment to the actualisation of the set goals.
He also called on the Youths to come out en masse and support the 3R government of His Excellency Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodinma.
“Security is our collective responsibility, let us work together and secure UMUIHUA UMUODU COMMUNITY”, he noted
REACTIONS FROM THE FLOOR
1. Mishael Ezenwa moved a motion for the immediate re-opening of a new platform so as to get things moving.
2. COMR OSONDU NWAKANMA urged the house to please adhere and support this new government, he also made a pledge of 50,000,00 (fifty thousand naira) to be used for the UUYO upcoming election.
3. OGUOMA OSINACHI in his own reactions gave an information about the governor of the state and his ideology of giving the youths opportunities to rule in various capacities, urging the youth bodie to always come out in some positions and be active so as to make the nation a better place.
4. OBI OGUOMA also congratulated and thanked BABA OSAI on his pledge and as well gave a brief address to everyone to embrace one another and have unity among ourselves.
He promised to always support the youth organisation especially this present one, in so doing, he is supporting the committee with the sum of 20,000 (twenty thousand ) naira.
5. AKALONU KELECHI (OLD SKOOL) joined in thanking the interim committee members and also gave credit to CHIEF OBINNA EZENWA as a solidified personnel.
6. Former Youth chairman COMR CHIMA AKALONU spoke on the unity and oneness for the youth of UMUIHUA, speaking on the resolution and the way forward of the organisation, pleading that each of us should have a heart of forgiveness bearing in mind that we are one people, he urged everyone to support the new leadership.
7. OBI AKUJOBI also pointed out togetherness in the community.
8. CHIEF OBINNA EZENWA pointed out forgiveness and the need to achieve such. Letting us know that the war we have today is not internal but external, so as to get what belongs to us from the neighbouring villages in the Municipality so, LET THERE BE FORGIVENESS AMONG BROTHERS.
The highpoint of the meeting was massive entertainment and reconciliation.
