Chief Innocent Chukwuma, MD/CEO Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing (IVM) Company

Chief Innocent Chukwuma, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing (IVM) Company has announced plans to start producing big trucks, including trailer bodies.

Chief Chukwuma disclosed this during an interview with Diaspora digital Media (DDM) correspondent.

The interview was held right at the ongoing construction site in Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria.

What will be produced at the new factory?

According to Chukwuma, besides producing big trucks and trailer bodies, the new factory will also produce buses using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as well.

To achieve this feat, Innoson has begun construction of a gigantic factory at Nnewi.

Nnewi, it could be recalled, is the home of the mother vehicle manufacturing company where cars are produced.

As soon as the new factory is ready, Innoson will commence manufacturing of assorted types of heavy trucks and CNG buses.

The factory space, Chief Chukwuma explained, is 20,000 square meters.

Amazingly, it will be larger than a football field when completed.

How have IVM vehicles fared globally?

In the meantime, Innoson’s brand has already warmed its way into at least five governments of African countries.

The five African countries that have taken a fancy for Innoson Motors include Ghana, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire, et al.

When asked if he is worried about rivalry from other upcoming vehicle manufacturing factories, Chief Chukwuma shook off the notion.

He said that the determining factor for survival in automobile manufacturing business, just like other businesses, is acceptability, not strife or jealousy.

He said: “Any business must have rivals, it doesn’t matter.

“Everybody will produce his own brand and sell according to his quality.

“If your own is okay, market will accept. If your own is not okay, market will reject it.”
