Recall that there have been heavy unrest in Oyo State when a pan-Oduduwa nation activist, Sunday Igboho, issued an eviction notice to Fulani herdsmen, believed to be behind the insecurity in the state.
Igboho himself on Sunday recounted how some criminals fired bullets at him at the Seriki Fulani of Igangan, Saliu Abdulkadir’s residence in Ibarapa but the bullets never penetrated him.
However, earlier on Friday, irate youths had also attacked the Seriki Fulani, after violence erupted in Igangan, Ibarapa, in the Fulani community, during which the houses and property of the Seriki Fulani, Abdulkadir, were burnt.
The Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko had vowed to bring the perpetrators of the attack on the Fulani community in Igangan to justice, noting that the security agencies would not watch while some criminal elements take the law into their own hands.
