The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, has intensified its pursuit of controversial singer and social media personality, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, by placing him on an international watchlist and considering a ₦50 million bounty for information leading to his arrest.

This move follows the artist’s continued failure to respond to several official summonses issued by the agency in connection with a viral video in which he allegedly boasted about having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl.

The video has triggered nationwide condemnation and raised concerns over the misuse of online platforms to promote illicit conduct.

Speed Darlington was officially declared wanted on June 27, with multiple allegations leveled against him, including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.

Despite the gravity of the accusations, the entertainer has remained active on social media, insisting that he has committed no crime.

Confirming the development, NAPTIP’s spokesperson, Mr. Vincent Adekoye, disclosed that the agency had obtained a court order authorising his placement on a watchlist and enabling security agencies to act accordingly.

“We have followed due legal processes and are working in collaboration with the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and Interpol to ensure his arrest,” Adekoye stated.

He added that discussions are ongoing regarding the possible placement of a ₦50 million bounty to encourage public assistance in locating the suspect.

The disturbing video, which continues to circulate online, has sparked widespread outrage.

Child rights activists, legal experts, and women’s advocacy groups have called for immediate action to hold the entertainer accountable and send a strong message about sexual crimes involving minors.
