Iran’s security chief, Ali Larijani, has warned Donald Trump to be careful “not to be eliminated” after the U.S. president threatened stronger military action against Iran.

Larijani issued the warning in a post on X while responding to Trump’s remarks about the strategic Strait of Hormuz a narrow waterway through which a large share of the world’s oil shipments passes.

Iran’s Warning

In his post, Larijani said Iran would not be intimidated by what he described as threats from Washington.

“The Ashura-loving nation of Iran does not fear your paper threats,” he wrote.

“Even those greater than you could not eliminate the Iranian nation. Watch out for yourself lest you be eliminated!”

The message reflects growing hostility between Tehran and Washington amid the wider Middle East conflict.

Trump’s Threat

Earlier, Trump warned that the United States would respond with overwhelming force if Iran attempted to block oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement, he said:

“If Iran does anything that stops the flow of oil within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the United States of America twenty times harder than they have been hit thus far.”

Trump also warned that the U.S. could strike targets that would make it “virtually impossible” for Iran to rebuild.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important energy choke points.

A large portion of global oil exports from Gulf producers passes through the narrow channel between Iran and Oman.

Because of this, any military confrontation around the strait could disrupt global energy supply and push oil prices sharply higher.

The heated exchange comes as the confrontation between the United States and Iran continues to intensify following recent military strikes and retaliatory actions across the Middle East.
