Iran’s Supreme Leader predicts Western civilisation will collapse
DDM News

The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has declared that the materialistic civilisation of Western countries will ultimately collapse.
He made this bold proclamation in a statement released on Wednesday through his verified X (formerly Twitter) account.
In the post, Khamenei quoted a verse from the Quran to support his claim of Western decline.
He described the civilisation of the West as built on falsehood, adding that it is destined to perish.
According to him, the downfall of Western materialism is a divine certainty governed by the natural laws of creation.
He wrote, “The false materialistic civilisation in Western countries is destined to perish and will be eliminated.”
He added, “This is the inevitable law of creation: ‘Indeed, falsehood is bound to vanish’ (Quran 17:81).”
Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that this latest message fits into Khamenei’s ongoing ideological campaign against Western influence.
Iran’s leadership has repeatedly accused the West of promoting immorality, injustice, and imperialism across the world.
Khamenei has long argued that Islamic civilisation is the only enduring alternative to what he terms Western decadence.
His statement comes at a time of rising tensions between Iran and Israel, particularly over the brutal war in Gaza.
Iran has positioned itself as a strong backer of the Palestinian cause and has condemned Israeli actions in Gaza as genocide.
The conflict in Gaza has triggered wider regional consequences, with Iran-backed groups stepping up attacks in recent weeks.
One of the most recent incidents involved the Houthi movement in Yemen, which is supported by Tehran.
The group fired a missile that landed dangerously close to Israel’s main international airport near Tel Aviv.
This marked a dangerous escalation in the region and heightened fears of direct confrontations between major powers.
In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a strong warning to all groups attacking Israel.
He vowed that Israel would retaliate forcefully for the Houthi missile strike.
Following the warning, Iran’s Defence Minister, Aziz Nasirzadeh, stated that any Israeli or American aggression would be met with full-scale retaliation.
Nasirzadeh stressed that Iran would not hesitate to defend itself or its allies if attacked.
The series of threats and counter-threats has raised alarms globally about the possibility of a broader Middle East war.
Analysts say Khamenei’s message is not just religious but also strategic, designed to challenge Western dominance in global affairs.
They believe Iran’s leadership is using ideological rhetoric to strengthen alliances across the Islamic world.
Iran sees itself as a revolutionary force opposed to American hegemony and Western intervention in Muslim nations.
Khamenei’s emphasis on the fall of Western civilisation resonates with many who view Western policies as exploitative.
Iranian officials often highlight social problems in the West, such as moral decline, inequality, and racial injustice, as evidence of systemic failure.
The situation remains volatile, with many countries urging restraint and dialogue to prevent the conflict from spreading further.
The international community continues to monitor developments in the Middle East with growing concern.
There are widespread fears that one misstep or miscalculation could ignite a regional war with global consequences.
Khamenei’s statement adds a deeply ideological layer to an already tense geopolitical climate.
Observers say that his comments may embolden anti-Western sentiments and energise militant groups aligned with Iran.
While his words were religious in tone, the political message was unmistakable.
Iran’s leadership is signaling that it sees the current conflict as a historic struggle between two competing civilisations.
The world is watching closely as events in the region unfold with unpredictable consequences.
