Iranian media reported on Friday morning that an Israeli drone struck a residential building in Tehran’s Gisha neighborhood.

Iran International reported that the attack targeted a base of the internal security agency Basij as Israel continued Operation Rising Lion to eliminate Iran’s nuclear and missile threat.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the scientist was assassinated with a drone, quoting an Israeli official.

The paper further reported that the official noted that “the scientist, who specialized in weaponry, was being kept in a hiding spot outside of his home.”

The strike came as Defense Minister Israel Katz said that he instructed the IDF to “intensify strikes on regime targets in Tehran” to “destabilize” the Iranian regime.

Though, the Israel Defense Forces have not yet commented on the reported strike, but the military has already confirmed the assassination of 10 Iranian nuclear scientists who were killed during the opening attack of Israel’s campaign against Iran in “Operation Narnia.”

Throughout the operation, Israeli intelligence officials categorized Iran’s nuclear scientists into four levels for elimination, ranking them from highest to lowest priority.

The scientists with the most military expertise and the greatest difficulty in replacing them were ranked highest. Israel then compiled a hit list, ready for execution at command, with the most dangerous scientists at the top.

The successful strike was made possible by the Intelligence Directorate’s precise intelligence.

The killed scientists and experts were pivotal figures in Iran’s nuclear program, with decades of accumulated experience in nuclear weapons development.

Many were direct successors of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, often regarded as the father of Iran’s nuclear program.
