JAMB announced the successful completion of 2025 UTME registrations, recording 2,030,627 candidates. The board disclosed this in its March 8 weekly bulletin.
Registration began February 3, 2025, attracting nationwide applicants. Notably, foreign center candidates remain excluded from the final tally.
Additionally, 200,115 candidates opted for the mock UTME scheduled for April 5. JAMB confirmed exams will commence April 25, 2025.
Of this number, 630 candidates have also registered for a trial mock examination slated for the same date.
Focus on Examination Integrity
With the registration process now closed, JAMB has shifted its focus to ensuring the integrity and security of the upcoming examinations. The Board has introduced new anti-cheating measures aimed at curbing malpractice and safeguarding the credibility of the UTME.
According to the bulletin, these measures have already yielded results, including the arrest of several candidates attempting to gain admission using forged A-level results. JAMB reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on examination malpractice and issued a strong warning to candidates against engaging in any dishonest practices.
The Board emphasized that strict monitoring systems have been implemented to detect and penalize fraudulent activities. Candidates were urged to adhere strictly to examination guidelines and avoid any actions that could jeopardize their participation or results.
Distinction Between UTME and Other Exams
JAMB recently urged stakeholders to differentiate UTME registration from school exams like WAEC and NECO. This clarification aims to streamline processes.
Additionally, the board stressed conflating assessments risks administrative errors, urging strict adherence to distinct guidelines for each examination body.
The Board called on candidates and their guardians to respect its registration protocols and guidelines.
As the countdown to the 2025 UTME begins, JAMB remains committed to delivering a seamless and credible examination process for all registered candidates.
