Nigerian football legend Jay-Jay Okocha has shared insights into how he manages family responsibilities while planning for his future.
In a statement that has drawn attention online, Okocha revealed that he once convened a family meeting where he made it clear that financial support given to relatives for business purposes must be taken seriously and not wasted.
“I once called a family meeting and told my relatives that the money I give them for business must not fail,” he said.
The former Super Eagles captain also disclosed that he took additional steps to ensure their stability by providing housing for them before extending further financial support.
“I even bought houses for them first, so at least they will not be homeless. That way, when I retire, nobody will disturb me,” he added.
His comments have sparked conversations about financial responsibility, family expectations, and long-term planning, with many praising his structured approach to balancing generosity with personal security.
