Former Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation on Wednesday demanded for public proceeding before House Committee on Ethics and Privileges.

House of Representatives had referred Jibrin to Committee on  ‎Ethics and Privileges to give explanation on allegation budget padding raised against the leadership of the Green Chamber.

However, Jibrin in his reaction who gave conditions before he can appear before the Committee said his allegation is only against the leadership of the ‎House not entire House of Representatives.

He also requested ‎that Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Academic Staff Universities Union (ASUU), Civil Societies Organisations (CSOs) and National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) must be in attendant during proceedings.

Jibrin said,‎ I will take up the opportunity provided by the Ethics committee to state my case under the condition that the proceedings will be public‎ and the Ethics committee will allow the Press, CSOs, NGOs, NLC, ASUU, NANS, NBA and the general public to witness the entire proceedings

“This is the only way that I can have the comfort and confidence that the proceedings and outcome will not be manipulated or compromised‎.”
