Josh Alfred: Why I quit crossdressing in my comedy skits

Comedian and Singer Josh Alfred, also known as Josh2Funny, discussed his decision to stop cross-dressing for his skits during an episode on The Honest Bunch podcast on July 23, 2024.

The video producer explained that portraying the female character “Mama Felicia” led to unwelcome advances from male fans.

This prompted him to reconsider continuing with that role.

Josh2Funny explained that his portrayal of the character “Mama Felicia” was purely comedic, emphasizing that the character’s absurdity was intentional.

During his appearance on the podcast, Josh discussed how these encounters prompted him to abandon the Mama Felicia persona.

Instead, he decided to adopt the character “Brother Zacchaeus.”

He stated that Brother Zacchaeus is a male character with a similar comedic approach.

Embarrassment in pure comedy

The content creator mentioned that this change spared him further embarrassment.

Some men had even obtained his phone number and were pursuing him on WhatsApp.

Josh2Funny said: “You see, the difference between me and some other people who do female characters is that mine was pure comedy.

“Anyone who liked me didn’t really have sense and didn’t understand because I made sure it was stupid.

“Mama Felicia is a stupid character; it was purely stupid.” Josh stated.

“I had a lot of advances. There was one guy who came to my WhatsApp and said he really liked me.

“I went straight to him and said, ‘Bro, I’m going to pray, and you’re going to be blind in two weeks.’ The guy started begging me.

“Why would you see me and like me?

“This is part of why I left the character.

“I turned Mama Felicia into Brother Zacchaeus. Instead of wearing female clothes, I had to drop it and start wearing male clothes, using the same accent.

“It was becoming embarrassing for me because I just wanted to make people laugh.” Josh concluded.
