The deseased had worked as a Desk Editor for Gory FM 97.1, Bayelsa State owned radio  station. He was attacked at his house at INEC Road , Yenagoa Bayelsa State.

The assailants broke into his apartment early hours on Easter Sunday around 5:00 am, after which they shot him at close range severally. The bandits were said to have gained access into the house by climbing the fence through a ladder after they must have cut the barbed wire.

“When the gunmen eventually entered and saw him lying on the floor, they shot him again many times at close range and left through the way they came. They didn’t steal anything and they didn’t go to any other flat. It was a case of assassination,” he said.

The Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident, however, said he was yet to get the full details of the incident.
