JUST IN: Court declares Natasha of PDP winner of Kogi Central senatorial poll

Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party—PDP for Kogi Central Senatorial district, has been declared winner of the February 25 election.

In a landmark judgement on Wednesday, Justice K.A. Orjiakoin, chairman of the election petition tribunal, ruled that Uduaghan scored 54,064 votes to defeat his closest rival Sadiku-Ohere of the All Progressives Congress—APC who polled 51,291 votes.

Justice Orjiakoin however, ordered Ohere to pay Akpoti-Uduaghan N500,000 for the cost of the petition.
